These Terms and Conditions govern participation in all tours, track sessions, and activities operated by Joyride Algarve (Sassy Adventure Lda). By completing a booking and/or signing the registration form, participants confirm they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.
 
The contract between the participant and Joyride Algarve is formed when Joyride Algarve sends a booking confirmation by email or WhatsApp.

1. Participant Requirements: ​

1.1 Participants must hold a valid A or B driver's license. Participants are required to carry their physical driver's licence during the tour. Joyride Algarve accepts no liability for any fines, penalties, or consequences arising from a participant's failure to carry valid documentation. By signing the registration form, participants confirm they have their physical driver's licence with them.

 

1.2 Participants must comply with all applicable Portuguese traffic laws and regulations when operating electric dirt bikes on public roads.

 

1.3 Participants must be physically fit and in good health to undertake the tour and weigh max. 100 kg/220 lbs (the bikes' limit).

 

1.4 1.4 Participants must inform the guide before the tour of any medical, physical, or other condition that may affect their participation or safety, including any prescribed medication they take or may need during the tour. This information is used solely to ensure participant safety and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Joyride Algarve reserves the right to refuse participation if a disclosed condition poses a safety risk, without liability or obligation to refund.

1.5 Participants are responsible for their own safety and must adhere to all safety guidelines provided by the tour guide.

 

1.6 Each participant must fill in the registration form themselves and confirm that they read and agree to these terms and conditions.

1.7 Minors holding a valid A1 licence may participate only with written parental or guardian consent, provided either through the online booking process or signed in person on the day. In such cases:
 

• The minor must hold valid personal insurance covering the activity, as Joyride Algarve's insurance does not extend to participants under 18 years of age.

• Joyride Algarve accepts no liability whatsoever for any injury, accident, or loss involving a minor who participates without valid personal insurance in place.

• By providing consent, the parent or guardian confirms that the minor has read and agrees to these Terms and Conditions and will comply with all safety guidelines.

• Participants under 16 years of age are not permitted to join any Joyride Algarve tour or track session under any circumstances.

2. Safety Approaches:

2.1 Participants must wear the provided safety gear, including helmets and any additional protective equipment.

​

2.2 Participants must follow the tour guide's instructions at all times. Ignoring instructions may result in immediate exclusion from the tour without refund.

​

2.3 Prior motorbike experience is not required to participate in Joyride Algarve tours.

​

2.4 Sobriety Requirement: Participants must undertake the tour with a clear and sober mind. Consumption of alcohol or any intoxicating substances before or during the tour is strictly prohibited. The tour guide reserves the right to deny participation to individuals who appear to be under the influence. The safety of all participants is paramount, and riding under the influence poses serious risks to oneself and others on the tour. Participants failing to meet this requirement may be excluded from the tour without a refund.

2.5 Right to Exclude:
Joyride Algarve and its representatives reserve the right to disqualify any participant whose actions, behavior, or general deportment:

• Impede the safe operation of the tour

• Endanger themselves or others

• Diminish the rights, welfare, or enjoyment of other participants

Refunds are usually not given in these circumstances. In rare cases where a refund is granted, the reimbursement will not exceed the cost of unused services.

3. Insurance:

3.1 Joyride Algarve provides personal accident insurance for participants 18 years and older for accidents occurring during the tour.

​

3.2 Minor participants must hold their own valid personal insurance covering off-road electric dirt bike activities. Joyride Algarve's insurance does not cover participants under 18 years of age under any circumstances.
 
3.3 Insurance does not cover:

• Injuries caused by participant negligence, failure to follow instructions, or violation of tour rules

• Theft or loss of personal property

• Third-party claims unless explicitly stated in the policy​​

3.4 Participants are financially responsible for any damage to electric dirt bikes or other Joyride Algarve equipment caused by negligence, misuse, or violation of safety rules. Joyride Algarve reserves the right to assess the damage and determine the cost of repair or replacement, up to the full market value of the damaged item at the time of the incident.

4. Cancellations, refunds, and tour modifications​

4.1 Cancellations by the Participant:
 

• Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled tour start time: full refund or free rescheduling.

• Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled tour start time: we will charge a payment processing fee of 4% of the amount paid and refund the remaining amount within 5 working days.

• Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled tour start time: each case will be considered individually at Joyride Algarve's sole discretion. A full or partial refund may be offered where circumstances warrant it, but Joyride Algarve reserves the right to retain the full booking amount.

• No-shows failure to arrive at the scheduled time without prior notice): no refund.

All cancellations must be communicated by email or WhatsApp or phone call to be valid. 
 
4.2 Cancellations by Joyride Algarve:
 
Joyride Algarve reserves the right to cancel, modify, or reschedule a tour due to unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to adverse weather conditions, safety concerns, or force majeure events (including natural disasters, government restrictions, strikes, or other circumstances beyond Joyride Algarve's reasonable control).
 
In the event of a cancellation by Joyride Algarve, participants will be offered:

• A full refund of the amount paid, or

• scheduling to an alternative date
   

Refunds will be processed within 5 business days. Joyride Algarve is not responsible for any additional costs incurred by participants (such as travel or accommodation) as a result of a cancellation or modification beyond its control.

4.3 Joyride Algarve reserves the right to modify the tour itinerary, route, or duration at any time before or during the tour for reasons of safety, weather, or other operational requirements. Such modifications do not entitle participants to a refund.
 
4.4 Group sizes and guide allocation may vary. Joyride Algarve reserves the right to combine or adjust groups as necessary to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

5. Liability Waiver:

5.1 Acknowledgement of Risk:
By participating in a Joyride Algarve tour or track session, participants acknowledge that adventure tourism and off-road riding on electric dirt bikes carries inherent risks, including but not limited to accidents, falls, injuries, and property damage. Participation is entirely voluntary and participants assume all risks associated with the activity.
 
5.2 Waiver of Claims:
In consideration of being permitted to participate, participants agree not to bring any claim against, or hold liable, Joyride Algarve, Sassy Adventure Lda, its staff, guides, or representatives for any personal injury, accident, damage to or loss of personal property, or any other harm or loss arising during or in connection with the tour, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct on the part of Joyride Algarve.
 
5.3 Indemnification:
Participants agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Joyride Algarve, Sassy Adventure Lda, its staff, and representatives from any claims, losses, damages, or liabilities arising from:

• Their own actions, decisions, or negligence during the tour

• Violation of these Terms and Conditions, safety guidelines, or applicable Portuguese law​

6. Environmental responsibility

6.1 Participants must adhere to all environmental protection guidelines provided by the tour guide.

6.2 Littering, vandalism, or any form of environmental damage is strictly prohibited. Participants may be held financially responsible for any damage caused.

​

7. Photos and Videos 

7.1 Photos and videos may be taken by Joyride Algarve staff during tours for promotional and marketing purposes. By participating, you consent to Joyride Algarve using such images on its website, social media channels, and marketing materials.
 
7.2 If you do not wish to appear in promotional content, please notify a member of staff before the start of the tour. You may also withdraw your consent after the tour by contacting us at kinga@joyridealgarve.com. Where technically and practically feasible, we will remove identifiable images of you from our published materials upon request.
 
7.3 Participants are solely responsible for their own personal devices and media during the tour. Joyride Algarve accepts no liability for loss, damage, or theft of personal items, including cameras, phones, or other devices.

8. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
8.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal.
 
8.2 Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or participation in Joyride Algarve activities shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts.
 
8.3 Joyride Algarve is committed to resolving disputes amicably. If you have a complaint or concern, please contact us at kinga@joyridealgarve.com in the first instance and we will do our best to resolve it promptly.

Joyride Algarve reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. The version in force at the time of booking applies to that booking. The most current version is always available on our website at joyridealgarve.com.
